Never lose your rod again!
The Yakrods ‘Black Line’ is an industry first with a retention system specifically designed for the kayakers. As kayak anglers ourselves, we’ve felt the heartache of watching our favorite rod slide overboard into the abyss. Quality fishing gear is an investment and we want to help you protect it.
To protect your investment, every order comes standard with our custom retention system. Included in this is our 4 ft. Quiet Tether and NTA endcap to ensure your rod never leaves your side.
Built on a high modulus premium graphite blank, these rods are lightweight, strong, and extremely sensitive. They deliver just the right parabolic bend to keep your tournament-winning monster pegged at the side of your yak. We paired that with the award-winning Microwave Air guides for a truly powerful combo.
We understand that space on a kayak is a premium. That’s why we’ve tuned our rods to offer a shortened handle without sacrificing balance. Our unique retention system doubles as a counter-balance giving you all-day comfort without fatigue. We coupled that with soft-touch technology for a downright luxurious experience.

Man! I love this Drop Shot Finesse rod! Super sensitive with a great action makes this rod my go to for all my finesse application. Coupled with the lifetime warranty, you just cannot beat the quality and value in this rod!!
I like to mix things up. I love to power fish, but I do it slower than most. When I finesse fish, I use heavier line and medium heavy rods. I love that dirty water, heavy cover, and thick weeds. I will go to traditional finesse gear when necessary, but otherwise I want a rod with some backbone.
The Yakrods Black Line finesse rod is not that. On paper, anyway. Medium power, extra fast action, just under seven feet in length. It's all those things that make for a great finesse rod, and it is...
But this thing is a beast in disguise!
After many weeks putting it through ringer, catching countless bass of all sizes and some mondo, double-digit blue catfish down on the Potomac River, I can safely say this is without a doubt the best spinning rod I've ever used. You will NOT be disappointed!
Recently purchased this rod with dropshot fishing in mind. It's a great rod for the application and has amazing sensitivity and very comfortable and accurate. Amazing rid in tight quarters allowing me to get cast into areas that are not easy to Get into.
My wife and I have 2 YAK spinning rods. We fitted our poles with light weight spinning reels. The rod has a fantastic grip and is very balanced. We are going to use them for drop shotting lake trout.
For the last few seasons I have exclusively used Batson Rainshadow blanks for all my spinning rods. When I opened this rod up, I questioned my entire line-up. I can't wait to see how this rod handles the dropshot and other tactics this spring!
Update after season:
This rod has out performed my expectations. Performed very well throwing finesse jigs, dropshot, neko rigged plastics, ned rigs and even weightless soft plastics. If you need an all around do it all spinning rod, this is it!
