Never lose your rod again!

YAKRODS™ is an industry first with a retention system specifically designed for the kayakers. As kayak anglers ourselves, we’ve felt the heartache of watching our favorite rod slide overboard into the abyss. Quality fishing gear is an investment and we want to help you protect it!

Built with S-Glass technology this rod's superior blank design offers superior performance without sacrificing strength. With a tensile strength 40% higher than E-Glass and a 20% higher modulus, these rods are lightweight, strong, and extremely sensitive. They deliver just the right parabolic bend to keep your tournament-winning monster pegged at the side of your yak. We paired that with the award-winning American Tackle guides, and high-performance components, for a truly powerful package.

We understand that space on a kayak is a premium. That’s why we’ve tuned our rods to offer a shortened handle without sacrificing balance. Our unique retention system doubles as a counter-balance giving you all-day comfort without fatigue. We coupled that with soft-touch technology for a downright luxurious experience.

Speciality series crankbait rod

This rod is my go to crankbait rod. This rod excels in casting distance. The microwave guides paired with this Pacific Northwest blank is the ticket. Great sensitivity along with unmatched treble hook control from the parabolic bend. Yakrods nailed the crankbait rod in the speciality series.

High quality rod. Came very well packaged and works incredibly well. Outstanding sensitivity

I’m a Believer!

I’ve been skeptical of the importance in choosing a crank bait rod. I’ve always used my fast action graphite rods until this one. After years of near zero confidence in crank baits, countless lost fish, I finally have a rod that keeps them on. Heavy enough to throw deep divers, light enough to through a square-bill. When they grab it the rod keeps them pinned deep in the blank with enough backbone to keep them from running under docks or into logs.

What a spectacular rod talk about a new level of casting distance and a great in hand feel then add its sensitivity into the rod and it leads you wondering how a rod could be so perfect all packed into one blank. This is a rod every kayak fisherman needs in his arsenal.

Balanced, Ergonomic and Sensitive

The Yak Rod crankbait rod balances strength and sensitivity in the blank, and is ideal for deep water cranking. This is also because the handle is not too short or long, and the end cap provides balance to the rod. Also, I love the tether feature - it's awesome for securing the rod in a kayak!
